Halloween!

The day before Halloween we had a trunk-or-treat with the ward. Joe and I dressed up as farmers and Shaylie and Casen were our little chickens!

After we had all of the trunk-or-treating we could handle we went to Chad and Elise's with the Buhler's. Jack was a chicken also and Leighton was the cutest little devil! They were tired and none of them were very excited to have their picture taken.

On Halloween Shaylie dressed up as a little fairy princess. She had so much fun trick-or-treating! Even though it was raining and freezing cold outside.

Look Who Turned 1!! (a few months ago)

So Casen turned 1 a few months ago, and I decided that I couldn't just skip over his birthday. My camera wasn't working so lucky for you I only have a few decent pictures.

All of Casen's cousins came, and his friends Leighton and Jack (who for some reason didn't make it in the picture) came to help celebrate!!!

He was a little shy at first when it came to digging into the cake, but he got the hang of it eventually!

I just thought this was a cute picture. Casen and Sammy are learning to share. All of the kids loved this toy and its one of Casen's favorite!

Just Me and the Kids! (and Grandma)

Way back in Sept. 2010 Joe had an elk hunt he went on with his dad and brothers. He had planned to take a whole week off. I wasn't going to let him have all the fun, so his mom and I planned a trip to California to visit Grandma Healey who was serving a mission there.

Grandma Healey had just gotten home from the mission office minutes before we pulled up. It was so fun to see her and visit.

The next morning we took Shaylie and Casen to Disneyland while Grandma Healey was working in the office. We ate breakfast at Ariel's Gratto. The food was delicious! Worth every penny.

Shaylie and Casen were so excited to meet the princesses! Ok well Casen probably didn't even care but Shaylie couldn't even eat she was sooo excited!!

Shaylie's favorite was Cinderella. Grandma Durfey and I both agree Cinderella was our favorite too! Snow White is a close second.

Then Shaylie got to meet "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" as she calls him. Im not sure if she was more excited to meet Mickey Mouse or Cinderella. She walked up to him and said in her cute little voice "I am so excited to meet you!" And then gave him a great big hug.

The Next day was Saturday and it was Grandma Healeys P day. So we decided to go to the beach. Joe's cousin David and his wife were in California for a family reunion so they came with us.

The first thing we did when we got there was bury Shaylie in the sand.

Then we played in the water. Grandma Durfey left her swim suit at home so she got to play in her shorts and a t-shirt.

Shaylie and Casen loved playing in the waves. Casen would get so excited when the waves would come rolling in on him. As long as he didnt get water in his nose and mouth.

Shaylie wanted to build a sandcastle. So we used the little cups we brought and built a little castle.

I dont know if they had more fun building it or destroying it. My guess would be they had way more fun destroying it!

We had such a fun trip! Im not sure but I think we probably had more fun in California than the boys had hunting. Thanks Grandma Durfey for coming with us. And Thanks Grandma Healey for letting us visit. We love you lots.

Girls Night! (with the kids)

A couple weeks ago Joe and Chad were out hunting and Jason was off fighting fires. So Elise, Lindsay and I decided to have a girls night! We went to Zupas and the kids entertained... or irritated everyone sitting around us. Then we decided to walk across the parking lot to Cold Stone to get some ice cream and entertain all of the people there. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time!

Ok so I have been working on getting this posted for quite some time now. Shaylie turned 3 earlier this month. It was so much fun! We started out the day with some pampering, she got her hair all done up like a princess and we painted her toenails. Next we went to Joe's work so he could give her some balloons. And then we did a little shopping to get ready for the party. As we were leaving the store she said "Oh, wait mom we forgot to get me an outfit." So she picked out the dress she is wearing. She absolutely loves being pampered. She is such a girl in every sense of the word!

I think the Happy Birthday song is one of her favorites! She sings it daily. I love the smile on her face in this picture, it warms my heart.

Shaylie waits all year long to put her face in the cake. She asked me the other day if she could bite my cake after I blow out the candles on my birthday. She cracks me up!

I think this girl got everything she wished for and then some!

Makeup Already?

Shaylie decided to do her own makeup the other day. She did a pretty decent job I thought, all except for the lipstick. I think she was trying to make her lips a little fuller by coloring out side the line. She may have gone a little overboard.

I just love Christmas! Its my favorite time of year. This is Casen's first Christmas. As you can see he is super excited and can't wait to open presents!

I think he was still a little groggy. He was the last one up :)
Shaylie had so much fun opening all of her presents.
She was so good to help casen with his presents and made sure he was having fun as well.

My little Dancer

In December Shaylie had her very first Dance recital! She was so excited to dance on the "big stage." And we were excited to watch her. Her class was Suzy Snowflake. It was so cute. Her whole class did a fantastic job!! Although, I have to say Shaylie did the very best :)

After the show Santa came so all the kids could tell him what they want for Christmas. Shaylie wouldn't sit on his lap, but she made sure she told him what she wanted. Silly girl. Maybe next year she will sit on his lap.

This year Shaylie was Cinderella for Halloween. She was so excited to put on her beautiful dress so she could dance like Cinderella does. She wears it daily and dances around the house any time she has it on.

Here is Casen and his cousin Kingston, they are 8 weeks apart. Casen wasn't lucky enough to get a costume this year (sorry buddy) but Kingston sure looks cute!

So I know I haven't been the best blogger, and I probably never will be. There have been so many events in our lives that I wanted to post, meant to post , and never did, but this is one that has to be posted if I am going to continue to blog.

Casen was born Oct. 23rd just after midnight. He was 6lbs. 11oz.

He slept so soundly the first night, but has had is days and nights mixed up ever since. I think he is getting a little better at night or I'm just learning to tune out all the little noises he makes at night while we are trying to sleep.

Shaylie was so excited to get her baby brother home so she could hold him. She is such a good big sister she loves Casen so much! She told me that she wouldn't let the monsters get him, and she makes sure to squeeze him really tight when she gives him hugs. She loves to rock him and sing him lullabies. We are so blessed to have Shaylie and Casen in our family.

It's been an eternity since I last blogged. Life is just crazy and I'm terrible at making the time to keep up on my blog. Anwyay, we're keeping really busy with the clocks and I thought I'd post a few of the clocks we've done in the last little bit. OK - I guess this blogging thing is growing on me, because I am going to make one more post. I just wanted to let everyone know what an amazing wife I have. She is such a fantastic mother and wife! I love to watch her with Shaylie. Shaylie loves her mom sooooooo much, and it's not hard to see why. One of my favorite things that I hear Heather say, and she says it alot, is "I just love that little pook so much - she makes me so happy!" Luckily for me, Heather and Shaylie both make me sooooo happy! Thanks babe for being so patient with me. You are my life and I love you so much!

Yay! Jason finally emerged 40 min after the plane landed. It took so long for him to get off the plane and come down the stairs that the battery on the camcorder died, so we didn't get any video footage.

Jason got to meet Shaylie and Isaiah for the first time. I can't tell but I think Shaylie really likes him, but Isaiah doesn't look like he is too sure :)

After the airport we went to Olive Garden.

Shaylie apparently really likes lemons, thats about all we could get her to eat.

Hobble Creek Half Marathon 13.1

On Aug 23rd I ran the Hobble Creek Half Marathon with my little sister Emily. It was so much fun, even though we lost each other at the start of the race. I finished at 2hr 9min and Emily came in at 2hr and 32min. She did a fantastic job. She hardly trained at all, she is so athletic!

Joe and Shaylie were at the finish line to help cheer us on. It is always so fun to see them at the end. I think it helps me run a little faster when I know they are waiting for me. :) My sister Angie and my cousins Camie and Morgan also were there at the finish line. I dont know why I didn't get a picture with them. Oh well, next time.

I realize this post is very late in coming, but it was such a fun day I felt like I had to post it.

This was the Speedy Spaniard 10k race in Spanish Fork, UT. I ran it with Jenny, a friend from work and Jenny's sister-in-law. (I can't remember her name). We had a lot of fun and we will probably run next again year! Joe and Shaylie were at the finish line to cheer us on.

Then we went boating at Utah Lake with; Chad & Elise, Brian & Heather, Adam, and Deb.

Brian let Shaylie drive the boat. She did an excellent job!

She even went swimming with Joe.

She didn't really enjoy wearing that stupid life jacket. I think she is still a little to small for it.

Shaylie finally pooped out on Adams shoulder. She had soooo much fun. Im glad we took her with us and didn't leave her with the babysitter.

Then we went to Joe's parents house and had a bar-b-q with his family. Seth and Jenna came with Isaiah.

Ellie and Shaylie love to play together. Ellie is eleven months older than Shaylie. These are just a few pictures of some of the things they like to do together.

We love jumping on the trampoline. Although Ellie does most of the jumping. Look how high she can jump!! WOW Ellie thats amazing!

We like to ride on Shawn's three wheeler.

We love to play outside. Soccer and Basketball are a little hard to play, because the ball is about the same size we are. But we give it our best shot.

Our most favorite thing to do together is swimming! Ellie has a swimming pool at her house, so we try to go swimming as often as we can.

This past Saturday we had the opportunity to go 4-wheeling with the Ashby's, Coles, Gunlocks, Lance Cole, Adam Coley and Todd Banks. As you can see there was still snow up high which made for a really fun ride. It was a beautiful day with no casualties...... truly amazing since Chad Ashby and Brian Cole came along.
